418 F St - Before & After

Last week I toured a house at 418 F St that is currently for sale. The current owners bought it last October, renovated it and are selling it as a flip. My uncle & colleague sold it last year so I was interested to see how it had changed. Also, I always want to see if flippers have ruining the historical charm of the house or if they have worked with it. Spoiler alert: I was expecting the house to be totally ruined by the renovation. In reality, while there are a few choices I would have advised against, it is a lovely home with a nice dose of original, bungalow charm. Let’s look at some before and after shots!

I love that they kept the old woodwork and doors - especially those french doors to the office. There are lots of old windows too with the wavy float glass. And I do like that they opened up the wall from the dining room to the kitchen. The kitchen and bathrooms are beautiful too. They are all very classic rather than trendy. I appreciate that in these historic homes.

If I had to gripe about anything, it would be the wood floors. I wish they would have kept is classic with an oak floor. And some of the light fixtures, though beautiful, aren’t quite right for the house in my opinion.

What do you think?
